Fall DIY TN Planner Band with Kunin Felt

Welcome to the Kunin Felt blog hop with Designer Crafts Connection.  Kunin Felt recycles billions of water bottles every year that would otherwise be in the landfills and makes them into a product which becomes felt. 12 bottles equals 1 lb of fabric. The felt is weather resistant and fade proof, great for outdoor
decor. You can even line your garden beds or patio with it, weed free! Today I am using Kunin felt to create a cute Fall planner band for my travelers notebook planner.

Supplies I used:
9" x 12" craft cuts of Classicfelt in White, Prickly Purple and Pumpkin Spice

Black leather for planner band base
Sizzix Movers and Shapers Flower Die and Bracelet Band Die
Sizzix BIGkick
Pearl rivets
Rivet setting tool
Elastic

How I made it:
1. Cut felt into flower shapes with Sizzix BIGkick and flower dies.

2.Cut black felt planner band base with your Sizzix machine and the Sizzix bracelet die.

3. Stack felt into flowers of your liking. Add rivets to the centers of the flowers, with the rivet setting tool, and attach them to the planner band.

 3. Add elastic to each end of the leather band.

4. Slide on to the spine of your TN planner for a cute decoration.

That's it! Super simple and so cute for the Fall season! I hope this tutorial has given you some fun ideas on how to decorate your planner with Kunin Felt :)

Rinea Foil Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rinea Foil blog hop with Designer Crafts Connection. I am here today with a fun tutorial on how to easily add Rinea Foil to your planner pages.

I have combined my love for Cinco de Mayo and the beautiful Rinea Foil in my memory planner.  I love how easy it is to cut and emboss the foil with my Sizzix machine. The purple foil really looks great on my May layout. Here is how I created this layout..

Supplies:
Rinea Foil
Sabor Papel Ole Collection papers
Sizzix machine
Embossing folder
Silhouette machine
Adhesive

Directions:

1. Cut foil to fit embossing folder and run through a Sizzix machine to emboss foil.

2. Cut scrapbook paper on Silhouette machine to fit on planner page.

3. Run paper and foil through a sticker machine.

 4. Attach paper and foil to your planner page.

5. Add stickers and other embellishments

TO SEE HOW I CREATED THIS LAYOUT, CLICK ON THE VIDEO LINK BELOW

You can add additional interest with a planner clip made from a bottle cap and Rinea Foil.

Directions:

1.Use one inch hole punch to create circle from left over embossed foil.

2.Add Glue Dot

3.Attach to bottle cap.

 4. Add paper clip

I hope this tutorial has given you some ideas on how to use Rinea Foil in your planner layouts. I really like how easy the foil is to use and the sparkle it provides.

I am so excited about the release of the brand new DCWV, Inc. (Die Cuts With A View) Memory Maker Planner System! I was able to check it out at the 2017 Creativation (formerly CHA) show in January, and I couldn't wait for them to hit the stores!

I live close to a Joann Craft Store, so I had to go and see what they had, and they were fully stocked.

How to make a DIY mini travelers notebook with items you have on hand

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog today :) I have a really cute TN tutorial for you that I created with the bag from a monthly planner kit I subscribe to. It's so easy to make with just a few supplies, here is how I made mine...

Supplies:
Any paper that you like (at least 5x7 inches large)
TN calendar insert (I used this one)
Gift wrap elastics
Paper trimmer
Scissors
Laminating machine
1/8" hole punch
Corner rounder punch

Directions:

Print the insert of your choice and fold in half or use an insert you have on hand.

Use insert to measure paper to fit inside your TN, add 1 1/2 inch width for spine if you want a more chunky TN. Also add about 1/8 inch to top and bottom to allow for elastics.

Trim paper and mark where to punch holes for elastics. I also pre-folded my creases before laminating.

Use a corner rounder to round the corners

Laminate paper

Fold into TN shape while warm

Trim extra lamination off being careful not to cut too close.

Use a heavy duty 1/8 inch punch

Punch holes for elastics where you pre-marked before laminating

I punched 3 on each side and one in the center for the elastic band to wrap around and keep the TN closed.

Lace your elastics as shown (inside)

(outside)

Double knot and trim off any excess.

Lace one of the tied elastics through the center hole and tie a double knot to keep from coming back through the hole.

Add the insert to the first elastic

You can add dashboards, vellum, acetate etc. to the additional elastics to fill your TN to capacity and enjoy!! I hope this tutorial will help you make your own TN! Tag me on IG: DIYplannergirls when you make yours! I can't wait to see them!
